If you are not happy with your smile due to spaces between your teeth or crooked or crowded teeth orthodontic treatment may be the solution. Also often crooked teeth are difficult to clean leading to an increase in gum disease and tooth decay.
An initial appointment is required to make study models and records. Then at the second appointment the braces are put on and then monthly visits are required for minor adjustment. After the braces come off a thin wire is attached behind the teeth so that it is not visible. This wire holds the teeth in place for up to two years. After the wire is removed a retainer is made to be worn at night if necessary.
Dr. Allen has been doing orthodontics in Scarborough for over thirty years. Cases rarely exceed eight months. We use clear braces since patients love the fact that they are almost invisible.
