Is it Better to Use an Electric Toothbrush or Manual Toothbrush?

Scientists at the University of Greifswald, Germany have confirmed after an 11 year study that electric toothbrushes are more effective that manual toothbrushes.

The Chief Executive of the Oral Health foundation in Britain concluded from this study that electric toothbrushes are better for our oral health. They are more effective in removing plaque, reducing gum disease and more teeth were retained by the end of the study than manual tooth brushing.

Electric toothbrushes, especially those with oscillating heads which rotate in both directions are the most effective.
